Consider this a portrait of the horse, "Bree". Jen Clover is the rider [great position, Jen!] ... but in this painting I'm focused on the horse. Not a lot of detail but I spent time on the head, legs and volume delineated by the light. I chose background darks to highlight and frame the movement.
Handed the painting to Jen at the Allan & Clover Sport Horse event yesterday... Tears and hugs all around. I'm so glad to have the opportunity to paint the animals I love, so THANKS Jen!
