JULY

What a great workshop!
Studio Incamminati for two weeks. Wonderful to just wake up and go paint...talk shop and then paint some more.
20 something students The lead teacher was Lea Wight with Steve Early, JaFang Lu, Robin Frey, Natalie Italiano, and two really helpful current students.
The Studio school is a 4 year intensive program.
We got a sampling of the approaches and excersises that are used in the school. These gave me a sense of color and form possibilities that was VERY helpful-fun-inspiring
but even more inspiring were the instructors. They are all skilled artists who are also thoughtful teachers, generous with their time and knowledge and enthusiasm. AND they are really all pulling in the same direction without in anyway being in lockstep... if you know what i mean. So here's some of the work I did but most of what I did is ... well, its truly like playing scales. [ need to do a lot more!] We all saw results in even a short span of time.
Oh and Philadelphia.... shared with my friend and fellow artist Linda Epstein, was such an easy city . A pleasure to explore as we zigzagged to the warehouse district for classes.
Color creates form...Stand BACK....lighter or darker, warmer or cooler, more or less intense...Stand Back...squint...look all around ...focus on the whole...STAND BACK
