Winter Wind and Waves

Time can be marked by the second, season, or life span... and at the beach by the crash and whisper of wave after wave.
I love painting waves. I love standing at the farthest reach, waiting for the waves to break  "just so"
Watch. Paint. Watch. Paint. Step back. Watch ...
Sand changes colors within seconds. Water shifts   like a chameleon. Transparent, translucent, opaque... now reflecting sky, now sandy foam.
Yup,  I love it

Sketch of the Beach   8x10 oil on panel

These pieces were done at Bethany Beach. I was there with three friends for a few days to, well, paint. We also ate well and talked late into the night [a little scrabble, too]

The weather was winter soft. Clear til south winds brought a misty cloud cover.
I started with the sketch and kind of got cooking especially with the last two.
